Arbor Day 2012

The Tree Committee has celebrated Arbor Day in Atherton for over twenty years. This year the committee, Atherton resident volunteers, and the town arborist, Kevin Kielty, observed Arbor Day in Holbrook Park on Saturday, April 21. The committee planted two Frontier Cultivar American Elms to replace two elms that had died near the tennis courts in the elm grove. They also planted a gingko tree, donated by the Menlo Park Lion's club, in the North Meadow. The committee served volunteers home-baked pastries, orange juice, and coffee.
